DB Schenker AG – Digital Training Platform
In the logistics sector, efficiency is key, and digital training can be a game-changer. Global logistics giant DB Schenker faced the challenge of rolling out a new training system across its vast network of locations. They needed a solution that combined scalability, modularity, and innovation.
Efficiency is paramount in logistics, where time is money. To stay competitive, smooth delivery processes and a qualified workforce are essential. DB Schenker sought to break new ground with rapid feasibility and cost efficiency. That’s why we chose a modular system based on the VR Builder from MindPort GmbH, extended with our own components and systems, allowing them to customize training in-house.
DB Schenker’s training focuses on packaging, consolidation, and shipping, encompassing both physical and software training. They use VR to teach logistics software usage, hand scanner operation, and test theoretical knowledge through multiple-choice questions, all with intuitive guidance.
Scalability required a hardware-agnostic approach. The training was initially developed for PC-bound VR headsets but can be used with various headsets, both PC-bound and standalone, as well as on desktops. They created a platform for streaming training applications, ensuring compatibility regardless of location.
This innovative approach has elevated DB Schenker’s training to a new level, providing a solid foundation for their continued success.
Wannsee Nursing School – VR Patient Care
VR training in healthcare is evolving beyond specialized professionals. Our VR Patient Care application is changing the game, offering innovative training for nurses, addressing a shortage of skilled staff.
We partner with Wannsee nursing schools, an established nursing school near Berlin, Germany, to revolutionize nursing education, making it more digital and interactive. Virtual training not only enhances theoretical knowledge but also immerses students in everyday work processes, reducing fears and preparing them for patient interaction.
We start with pulse measurement, focusing on practicality and feedback. Students practice extensively at their own pace, all while making VR easy to use for beginners. A detailed tutorial ensures confidence.
Realistic haptic and timing reproduction of vital functions is key. Vibration feedback in the VR controllers simulates pulse beats accurately. The app evaluates measured values and provides instant feedback, enhancing learning. We used cost-efficient stand-alone headsets and an optimized art style.
Our long-term goal is to expand the portfolio with additional teaching content and complex scenarios, making nursing training practical and digital. Students’ feedback encourages expansion, including scenarios with different patient profiles and more interactive elements.
Testimonials
“In the logistics industry, digital training is an effective and innovative solution for onboarding and professional development. It allows employees to experience realistic replicas of our logistics processes in a virtual environment and improve their skills without using real resources or equipment. Through this hands-on training, we increase the motivation of our employees, reduce training efforts and lower the error rate. Thanks to the training platform, we have the basis for driving this issue forward throughout the Group.”
