Silica dust is found in our most common rock types and every year 80,000 people in Sweden are exposed to this dust on our construction sites. Exposure to silica dust occurs when carving, drilling, grinding and sawing in stone or concrete. In the long run, it can lead to fatal diseases such as silicosis, cancer, and COPD.According to current European regulations, the employer must ensure that everyone who leads or performs work with silica dust-containing material has sufficient knowledge of health risks and how these risks are to be prevented. This training course provides a unique understanding of the impact of quartz dust on the body in general and the lungs in particular. Users are taken on a journey down into their own body, through the trachea to the lungs and get to see with their own eyes the effects of the deadly dust in a way that changes behavior. The course provides knowledge about how to plan and carry out your work to minimize the risks linked to exposure to quartz dust. The training also describes what laws and regulations linked to the safe handling of these risks look like.
