Resolve
Resolve
Walk your building before its built by reviewing complex BIM files in virtual reality (VR) with Resolve.
Resolve helps you avoid confusing screen shares of 3D models that waste time and result in poor feedback from stakeholders. Instead, users with varying levels of BIM experience can use Resolve to easily review 3D construction models and provide critical feedback early. From constructability to operations risks, Resolve helps teams identify important issues to prevent expensive rework and delays
Resolve is the only virtual reality solution that allows teams to easily review large, complex BIM projects on wireless VR headsets like the Quest 2, Quest 3 and Quest Pro.
Resolve provides teams with a suite of powerful tools including logging issues via speech-to-text, measuring, inspecting BIM properties, viewing 2D plans, review scheduling, issue status and tagging, analytics, AR and more.

Use Cases
Simulate Building Operations Before Turn Over
Resolve’s standalone VR review software for BIM models comes with integrations into leading construction cloud providers such as Procore or Autodesk Construction Cloud. You can upload Navisworks, Revit, IFC, Solidworks or other models to review with multiple collaborators at the same time. Resolve’s custom rendering engine allows you to review huge models on standalone devices without any model size or file size limit. All of this without the need of a gaming PC or streaming from a server.

Saving Money on Construction Projects with a VR Walkthrough in Resolve
Catching errors early can save the construction industry billions of dollars. When Mortenson shared a digital twin of a new data center with clients, they were able to resolve over 600 issues before they became a serious problem.
Some of the issues flagged by reviewers included:
- Restricted access to end feed boxes – While virtually simulating a maintenance procedure, the team discovered that end feed boxes were blocked by light fixtures. Fixing the problem before it made it to the field saved an estimated $26,500.
- Short electrical conduits Raceways into the IDF (individual distribution frame) could be more accessible if they routed down and finished closer to cable trays. By catching the issue early, the end user was able to pull wires without obstructions and save approximately $12,000.

Gafcon Digital Finds that Virtual Reality Reduces Change Orders and Minimizes Delays During Construction
Project Team Tests Resolve as an Emerging Technology on 35,000-square-foot Tenant and Lab Fit-out
“The Resolve customer success team was with us every step of the way. They made sure the project got the measurable results that we and our client wanted from the use of VR.”
– Gafcon Digital Project Lead John Niles
Sample ROI from Case Study:
- Increasing stakeholder feedback on the design ultimately drove changes to the design earlier and eliminated multiple RFIs saving substantial time and money. The team was able to discuss batches of issues in a single meeting rather than responding to one-off RFIs, which require context switching and can be time consuming to complete. “I would estimate that we had an 800% improvement in communication efficiency when resolving issues,” said Niles.
Testimonials
“Resolve gives our ops teams an amazing gain in efficiency that helps us deliver better data centers. When we review 3D models on a screen share we’re wasting almost 50 man hours during a 1 hour meeting and we’re all competing for what to focus on. And with 2D drawing reviews I can generate maybe 2 comments in an hour. With Resolve I provide 30 to 40 comments in 45 minutes.”
– Alan Rice, Critical Facility Manager
“Resolve is the only application that can handle the large federated models of our Data Center projects on both the Quest 2 and Quest Pro.”
– Taylor Gilmore, Operating Group Integrated Construction Director @ Mortenson
“The use of Resolve allows teams to confidently assess the site in VR for issues before it gets built and increases engagement with our existing 3D models, improving the quality of the real-world product.”
– Richard Morris, Engineering Implementation Manager at @ One Alliance
“It’s much easier to engage with operators in VR versus on a screen share. They understand the model faster…”
– Juan Carlos Garza, CTO, Nodum
“Spending half hour with [Resolve] you could easily find 10 issues. Spending the 30 minutes with 2D or some other screen based 3D models you could find 1 or 2 issues.”
– Esa Jaskari, Program Manager, Bayer
