OCU Health Care

I had the privilege to introduce OCU Health Care VR technology to patients and staff at Kansas Medical Center. It has been such an amazing experience to work with patients and provide them with education and cutting-edge technology to help improve their hospital stay. We were able to improve patients' experience and bring a sense of calm about the next step in their care. Patients gained knowledge about their disease process, recovery time, diet, and exercise prior to being discharged. With this technology we can make a positive impact and improve a patient's experience in their toughest time. Nurses would call and ask to provide patients with headsets to help educate and reduce stress. It helped reduce nurses' time spent on education at during hospital stay and discharge. Staff and providers were encouraging and positive with their feedback. I believe this is a new way of keeping our patients in the know of their health connected with family and healthcare teams. The possibilities are endless.

After the pandemic, it became evident that technology can help improve the quality of care in a hospital setting. We recognize the value that technology can add to improve the quality of care, and anticipate that the OHC platform will reduce the impact of patient care on the center's medical staff while improving the patient satisfaction.
