European Space Agency – Ensuring that Astronauts are Mission Ready

Astronauts undergo rigorous preparation and training prior to their work in space. The European Space Agency identified a need to extend astronaut training programs with VR, and involved PaleBlue in creating an elaborate multiplayer training system for astronauts.

PaleBlue Astronaut Training Simulator is an advanced tool developed to replicate Zero Gravity effects within a virtual environment. This VR simulator is used by a number of organizations including the European Space Agency (ESA).

The tool facilitates astronaut training and enables engineering design reviews with high accuracy and realism. With this application, astronauts can engage in multiplayer scenarios aboard the International Space Station, experiencing a simulation that closely mirrors reality, helping to ensure that they are fully prepared for their upcoming space journey.

Saudi Aramco – Procedural Training for One of the World’s Largest Enterprises

Saudi Aramco wanted to improve how training was done for the company’s workforce. Operating the world’s largest hydrocarbon network requires conducting constant training and development of specialists in the field. Considering the size of the group to be trained, the decision was taken to implement a digital, VR-based approach in order to conduct the training in the most efficient way. PaleBlue was contracted to design and develop VR training modules.

PaleBlue involved Aramco’s subject matter experts in order to tailor the training experience to the company’s working procedures. PaleBlue developed multiple VR simulators covering various scenarios with inspection, electrical and chemical modules, and these have been integrated into Saudi Aramco’s corporate training programs. The applications were developed for both standalone and PC-based VR setups.

The VR training has been deployed to Saudi Aramco IT, and is now used for training of Saudi Aramco’s 66,000-strong workforce.

Neptune Energy – VR Familiarization with Industrial Facilities

Neptune Energy, an oil company operating many oil platforms around the world, needed a solution to enhance the training and preparedness of its specialists, focusing on safety and operational efficiency for the personnel working offshore.

Addressing this need, PaleBlue developed a tailored VR Familiarization and Safety Training Simulator. This tool provides immersive hands-on experience working in the platform’s complex environment, improving task efficiency and knowledge in Health, Safety, Environment & Quality (HSE&Q). The simulator also acts as a cost and environmentally efficient alternative, reducing the need to travel to the site and the associated greenhouse gas emissions. Developed in collaboration with Neptune Energy’s experts, this simulator is now integral to training, ensuring specialists are well-acquainted and ready for the realities of offshore work at the Gjoa Platform.

Existing materials such as e-Learning or web courses, can be transformed into immersive, hands-on experiences. The package also includes pre-defined training scenarios and a wide library of 3D objects for building and professional training scenarios. Additionally, the powerful templating feature ensures that you’re not only producing quality content but also saving time on creation. The results can be integrated to LMS via SCORM.
